We have proven track records of excellent safety performance. Our people, including our leaders, take safety seriously. We foster a proactive high-reporting culture that focuses on more that just injury frequency rates. We measure severity rates and behaviour, and focus on identifying lead indicators and root causes in order to ensure continuous improvement and prevent recurrence.
Given the often complex nature of our works, extensive planning, training and preparation goes into our project delivery. Commencing during the design phase, through to procurement, delivery and commissioning, safety remains at the forefront of our decision making. Being a design and construct consortium we are able to identify and manage risk early using the hierarchy of control to eliminate or mitigate the risk through design, construction methodology and/or project controls.
FHDB are proud of our involvement in numerous industry events including the trenching and shoring seminar undertaken by South East Water. This seminar provided the opportunity for FHDB to present its lessons learned and key initiatives employed to date within the Pipes and Structures Program by challenging standards and behaviours in trenching and shoring.
